Academy Main Building
Keith Peattie Associates continues to grow and is currently working on many schemes which includes three major schemes for an educational establishment.
KPA were commissioned by a very large project management company to inspect a new academy scheme in London. The scheme valued in excess of £35 million includes a new nursery school and a main school. The construction has many different elements and KPA work closely with the project architects. The existing school remains in use during the building process and will be demolished following the completion of the new academy.

Academy Nursery
The second element of the Academy in South London was a purpose built steel frame modern nursery featuring equipment suitable for children from the age of three to five.
The external cladding was coloured Eternit panels and large low level windows were installed. Interlocking zinc sheets were used for the roof covering.

Refurbishment and Modernisation of a Listed School Building
The third element of the Academy project was the total refurbishment of an existing listed school building which including heating renewal, concrete repairs, and the installation of a lift for the disabled.
Music studios and rooms were segregated and sound proofed to allow recording.
The floor of the auditorium was brought back to the original condition.
All work was agreed with the local conservation officer.

University Humanities Building
KPA have been commissioned by universities for both new build and refurbishment schemes and ensure conformity in specialised areas.
This scheme was for a new humanities building for a London university which is built of a concrete frame and includes a large lecture theatre and is heavily involved with an acoustic element including foundation pads. Ground source heating is also incorporated into the scheme.

Rural Housing Projects
KPA have several clients who employ us to inspect both large and small housing projects ranging from four houses to in excess of two hundred. These living accommodation schemes can be flats ranging from two to thirteen plus storey height structures to conventional housing schemes including terrace, semi detached and detached properties.
KPA ensure conformity to all areas of the projects as required by our clients.

Sustainable Homes
With sustainability in homes being a fundamental requirement in house building today KPA have recently completed inspections for a client on a Code 6 project in Hertfordshire. Code 6 is currently the highest obtainable code for sustainability in homes.

Pimlico
One of the largest schemes KPA have been involved in since trading was a project in central London which exceeded £40 million. Keith Peattie Associates input into the project was on behalf of a large housing association and included 85 flats with under ground car parking. The flats were commenced at first floor podium level and in areas was built to a nine storey level.
The inclusion of a podium garden was designed into the scheme and an under flower bed watering system was installed.
KPA had involvement with the private element of the development in as much that certain sections of the scheme had a 'cross-over which involved all parties.

Sheltered Accommodation | Care Homes
KPA have experience in inspection of accommodation for the elderly including warden controlled sheltered accommodation and care homes with full facilities for the disabled.

University Halls of Residence
Keith Peattie Associates have been employed by a London University on schemes which included a concrete frame with cross wall construction halls of residence. Below the main building a restaurant and student union offices was constructed.
Each bedroom had a shower pod unit installed and included Rooms for the disabled.
The external envelope was of an innovative open clad system using Andirra timber from a sustainable source.

Office Conversions
KPA have been commissioned by clients on several occasions to inspect conversion schemes such as office accommodation changed to key worker living units. On most of these schemes extensions have been added to the existing structure and have included gymnasiums and sauna areas.

Kensal
Keith Peattie Associates have inspected projects when the total value has exceeded £25 million such as the scheme in West London which included 106 flats, 39 offices and 5 commercial units. The scheme was of a concrete frame construction and included a podium level with a playground area and garden area.
The living accommodation was made up of rented and shared ownership dwellings including 4 disabled units. The reception area leading to the office areas included a resin bonded coloured aggregate floor and under floor lighting.
